On His Behalf

My dad went to Paraguay in July to teach a leadership conference. Before he left he was given some material to help him. The material varied, as I looked over it. There was one quote that really stood out. It stood at so much I wrote it down and put it up on my wall. It still stays up on my wall. It reminds me, of the promises God has, the power, but most importantly to act on his behalf.

"God changes the course of history through the selection
of men and women who will act on his behalf ". - Isaac Lim

New Year

August 26,2008 the eve of the beginning of school. Every time I step into school for the first day. That's when my new year begins. My mind starts to wonder. About the classes I will have, the professors who will enlighten me, and the people I will meet.

Every school year comes with it set of challenges. But this year is the most prepared I have ever been. Sure I will get frustrated, and not see the point to certain things. But my level of patience, obedience, and perseverance have grown.

I have never been a school guy. Barely passing high school, I'm ready to see what. God has in store for me this year. Because I know God can help a college student with a learning disability, several hours behind his peers. Pass college and walk away with a diploma in his hand.

Everyone Grows Up

Three weeks ago I turned 21. It dawned on me, that I am getting old. Sure I still have a lot of life to live(God willing). But tomorrow my bro leaves for University of Texas in Austin. For the last 18 years I have been around him. For all his events, accomplishments, etc. As he leaves I will cherish these last couple of moments with him.

Everyone grows up, age never goes down, but up. I won't cry when he leaves, or go into despair. But I will miss him for sure. As I grow older I have realize life is short. To enjoy every moment with people you love and care about. But I'm super excited for him, and what he has in store in Austin. I will miss his support, thoughts, and weird taste of music. I will miss the long conversations we had at night. We talked about girls, music, and our aspirations. I will probably miss that the most. Sure he's an hour away, but our aspirations will take us different places. Our bond of family will brings us back on occasions.

As both of us have gotten older our interest have peaked in different areas. We also don't look like brothers at all. He is taller, to most better looking, and very shy. I'm stocky and short, ugly when compared to him and very friendly. We will see each other again. But life will take us down different roads. When he steps out that door it will never be the same. However, life and time stops for no one. If anything, I look forward for the final result when we finish school, get married, have kids and visit each other on holidays. Those are the new memories we will be making in this new chapter of our lives.

But one thing that won't ever change is the fact that we are blood brothers (literally). Carlos I'm proud of you. Now go out and show the world what your made of.

God will be with you always. Let the voice of truth guide you.

Love,

Jose

A Call To Obey

I have always been the stubborn kind, one that has to hit the wall. To realize I need help, but most importantly to be obedient. Obedience is tricky, not only that, but its hard. Especially in this day and age ,when everyone. Wants to doing everything on their own terms.

When I was little I had a hard time listening to my parents. Let's just say I got spanked on a regular basis. The Bible clearly states the importance of obedience. To obey our parents, authority figures, the law etc. Obedience is something we all struggle with.

To obey God is to be made fun of, scoffed at, and to be excluded. Obeying God is hard, it's not fun at times. Obedience has many benefits for those who are obedient. But in the worlds eyes your just an idiot. As Christians we are called to obey Christ. To follow the standards he expects us to abide by. In order to abide to these standards of God, it requires obedience. Obedience requires meekness, humility, and focus.

To sacrifice time....
To eliminate negative influences in our lives.......
To love our enemies......
To be honest.....
To live a pure life.....
To not judge
And many more...

The standards have been set, the call has be made. Now it's are job to respond

I pray we vast not in the victory, but in our obedience to our Father

Thanks Mr. Phelps

I get inspired so easily, and Michael Phelps made that true. I have been watching his journey for 8 gold medals all week. He has won in every fashion. Whether in a blowout, by a tenth of a second. He's come up on top in world record fashion.

As I sat there and, saw his historic 8th gold medal. I realized all the hours of swimming, diets, workouts he went through for 4 years. It shows me, that patience perseverance, and dedication do pay off. That if I focus on the goal which is serving God. That I spend countless hours, studying, witnessing, etc. That I will to have a medals my way. But not for me, but for the kingdom of God. If we all stay humble, honest, and our fulfillment is Christ. I'm sure our end result will be far beyond 8 gold medals. But Phelps made me, once again realize, my goal will take time. When I finish I will look even better than he does in a speedo. I promise God's got my back Lol.

Life Is Wonderful

This song has been stuck in my head for awhile. The song is called Life is Wonderful by Jason Mraz. The song is nice I like the lyrics. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkXcNiWFB28&feature=related

It takes a crane to build a crane
It takes two floors to make a story
It takes an egg to make a hen
It takes a hen to make an egg
There is no end to what I'm saying

It takes a thought to make a word
And it takes some words to make an action
And it takes some work to make it work
It takes some good to make it hurt
It takes some bad for satisfaction

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la

It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
And it takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other

And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
And it takes some fears to make you trust
It takes some tears to make it rust
It takes the dust to HAVE it polished

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la

It takes some silence to make sound
And it takes a loss before you found it
And it takes a road to go nowhere
It takes a toll to make you care
It takes a hole to MAKE a mountain

Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la la life is full of
Ah la la la la la life is so full of love
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la life is full of
Ah la la la la la life is so full of love

Last night as we gathered at Alana's apartment to play cranium. I realize the fun of fellowship. Not that I haven't felt it before. But it's a feeling that is very refreshing. We got to the see the acting part of everyone. Every one's so called artistic side, to the random facts people knew. I was amazed how much you can. Find out by about everyone in a simple board game. We spent 2 hours, but it was a lot of fun. We also started to development friendships. I look forward to the next time, especially since my team won!

Be Still And Know

I just got back from Panama and had time to chill. To worry about absolutely nothing it was a great feeling! I read a book during my stay in Panama. The title of this book is know peace in troubled times. The book contains exerts from different christian leaders. One of the exerts really resonated with me. Its by some guy named Steven Curtis Chapman.

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is holy
Be still oh restless soul of mine
Bow before the Prince of Peace
Let the noise and clamor cease
Be still

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
Know that he will never change
Be still

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still
Be speechless

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know He is our father
Come rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of His unfailing heart of love
Beating for His little ones, calling each of us to come
Be still

Be still

Psalm 46:10
